The Estate was founded in the 1810 in the the small town of Guebwiller, Alsace. With roots stemming back to the 16th century, the Schlumberger family treat the land with respect and with thoughts of future generations. They are certified biodynamic and sustainable, and they believe only healthy soils can produce great wines. In order to preserve the natural characteristics of the wines, they use oak casks that are over 100 years old. All of their white grapes are whole bunch pressed and aged on fine lees for 9 months before racking.

The Domaine Schlumberger Les Princes Abbes Pinot Gris is made in true Alsatian style with a hint of residual sugar. Honeyed aromas blend with Golden Delicious apple, quince and ripe pear. The aromas follow through on the palate accompanied by slight bitter spice and underlying earthy notes. Smooth and rich, it also has a medium body with gentle acidity on the finish.

The Domaine Schlumberger Les Princes Abbes Pinot Gris is an excellent match to traditional French dishes such as poultry vol-au-vent. With a touch of sweetness it also allows for spicier fare such as a Thai Curry.
